Under the partnership, Rehband supplies the women’s first team and the youth handball teams of TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen e.V. — known as the Werkselfen — with sports supports, protectors, compression wear, tape and handball resin.
The partnership brings together two organizations committed to helping athletes perform at their highest level, push beyond their limits and realize their full potential. Rehband’s protective equipment is developed for the demanding combination of speed, power, contact and repeated floor impact found in indoor handball, and is used by the club’s players in training, league and cup competition.
Few clubs carry as much history in German handball. The women of TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen e.V. are the record champions of German women’s handball with twelve national titles — six won between 1965 and 1980, followed by six in a row between 1982 and 1987 — and record holders in the DHB-Pokal with nine cup victories, the most recent in 2010. Internationally, the club reached the European Cup final in 1984, played the EHF Women’s Cup final in 1991 and won the Challenge Cup in 2005.
Today the club is writing a new chapter. After close to 50 years of continuous membership in the 1. Bundesliga Frauen, the Werkselfen compete in the 2. Bundesliga Frauen and enter the 2026/27 season under new head coach Franziska Garcia. The club continues to build around a youth pipeline that has produced five German A-youth championships with the Juniorelfen — in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018 and 2022, the last of them won in front of a home crowd.
The club plays its home matches at the Ostermann-Arena in Leverkusen, an arena of around 3,500 seats, as part of TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen e.V. — one of Germany’s largest multi-sport clubs and a long-standing home for elite and grassroots sport alike.
Handball challenges athletes through a constant combination of sprinting, cutting, jumping, landing, diving and physical contact on hard indoor courts. Rehband knee pads are anatomically designed to provide a secure fit, shock absorption and reliable protection against contusions and floor burns — without restricting the mobility athletes need to accelerate, jump and shoot. Rehband’s handball range also includes elbow pads, compression wear, supports and sports tape developed for the same demands.

About the Werkselfen of TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen e.V.
The handball department of TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen e.V. is one of the most successful institutions in German handball. Its women’s team, known as the Werkselfen, is the record champion of German women’s handball with twelve national titles and the record winner of the DHB-Pokal with nine cup victories.
The club’s international honours include the Challenge Cup won in 2005, a European Cup final in 1984 and an EHF Women’s Cup final in 1991. After close to 50 years of uninterrupted 1. Bundesliga handball, the Werkselfen currently compete in the 2. Bundesliga Frauen and play their home matches at the Ostermann-Arena in Leverkusen.
Alongside its first team, the club runs one of the strongest youth programs in the country.
