PAPHOS, Cyprus & OLTEN, Switzerland — 11.08.2026
Rehband, a manufacturer of sports supports, compression wear and protective equipment, and the Schweizerischer Handball-Verband (SHV), the national governing body for handball in Switzerland, are working together under an agreement that names Rehband the Official supplier of protective equipment of the SHV.
Under the agreement, Rehband is the official supplier of protective equipment for the national teams of women, men and junior teams of the SHV and the exclusive supplier of sports supports and protectors of the SHV. Rehband equips the federation’s eight national teams with sports supports, compression wear and protective equipment, and holds category exclusivity for protective equipment at central SHV events and national team activities.
Handball is played at high intensity on hard indoor courts, with repeated sprinting, cutting, jumping, landing, diving and physical contact. Rehband’s handball range covers knee and elbow protection, sports supports and compression wear. The products are anatomically shaped to sit securely, cushion impact and allow the range of motion the sport requires.
The agreement covers a defining period for handball in Switzerland. At the Men’s EHF EURO 2026 in Denmark, Sweden and Norway, Switzerland reached the main round for the first time in 22 years and collected the team’s first main round points at that level. As co-host of the Men’s EHF EURO 2028 alongside Spain and Portugal, Switzerland is already qualified for the tournament and will open its preliminary round on January 13, 2028 at the Swiss Life Arena in Zurich. In the run-up, the team competes in the EHF EURO Cup during the 2026/27 season against Spain, Portugal and defending champion Denmark.
Switzerland’s women’s national team has taken a historic step of its own, qualifying for the Women’s EHF EURO 2026 on sporting merit for the first time. The team plays its group stage in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, against defending champion Norway, co-host Romania and North Macedonia, when the tournament is staged from December 3–20, 2026.
Founded on December 7, 1974 and headquartered in Olten, the SHV oversees handball across every level of the sport in Switzerland — from its women’s, men’s and junior national teams to the national leagues and the development of clubs, coaches and officials through its seven regional federations. It unites more than 200 clubs with more than 20,000 licensed players.
The SHV agreement builds on Rehband’s long-standing involvement in handball, a sport in which the brand has supported athletes, clubs and national teams across Europe for decades. Rehband also serves as The Official Knee Sleeve of the World Fitness Project, The Official Knee Sleeve of Monster Games and the Official Knee & Elbow Sleeve Partner of USA Dodgeball.
The agreement runs through June 30, 2028 and is activated across SHV national team activities as well as Rehband and SHV digital channels.
