Former Rehband ambassador Derrick Johnson has won multiple national championships and has represented the United States at many international events. He is the first African American to be named head coach on an international trip for USA Weightlifting.
He recently opened The Kings of Weightlifting, a free Olympic weightlifting after-school program for unprivileged youth. The goal is to strengthen the community one kid at a time, to get kids to move at an early age to improve their quality of life when they are older.
He is a champion who himself has overcome incredible challenges on his journey to greatness and with his after-school program, he aims to reinforce the positive role that qualified coaches can have in developing young athletes.
Rehband is excited and proud to follow and support the development of the program. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute with t-shirts and Rx Knee Support Junior for the kids participating in the program. The Rx Knee Support Junior is a replica of Rehband’s most popular knee sleeve adjusted to meet the needs of children, helping them to prevent injuries and perform on top.
